After a short visit to Davenport, we continued our trip across the U.S. to Omaha, Nebraska.
Welcome to Nebraska!
Getting a little punchy after a long drive 🙂
God Bless America.
And while we didn’t get to hang with Warren Buffet, we did get to visit the neighborhood.
Just your typical Warren Buffett stalker!
Nightlife
Wow, Omaha is a lot of fun on a Saturday night?
We stayed in the downtown/old market area which is close to everything.
11th Steet Omaha
Jackson Street area
It is jammed packed on the weekends.
All you have to do is make your way down to the Jackson Street/ 11th Street area and you’ll find tons of restaurants, bars, and shops to visit.
The old cobblestone streets line the area, and there is no shortage of places to eat.
The Howard Street Wine Merchant has a great collection of wines and the No Brainer Club for you.
The Best Steaks Ever?
We’ve been all over but we’re just going to say right now that the best steaks we have ever had were in Omaha…amazing!
Yum!!! Best steaks ever!
NY Strip – Yum
Yum, Ribeye!
Omaha Prime is right in the middle of everything and man they were awesome.
I had the New York Strip and Abby had the bone-in ribeye.
We really can’t say enough about how great this place was…just go there if you get the chance.
Heartland of America Park
There’s a lot of construction right now, but we did make our trek to the Missouri River, which is the longest river in North America.
The park once completed will have a lot to offer.
Getting Around
It’s pretty easy to walk around Omaha, and if you don’t want to walk, you’ll find electric scooters to use on every corner in the city.
You can find a scooter on almost every corner in Omaha.
Leaving Omaha
We’re flying through a lot of these towns in Iowa and Nebraska….but I would say that Omaha would have been worth another day just for the 11th Street area nightlife.
Definitely a thumbs-up for the heartland of America!!
Dates of Stay – September 4th – 5th, 2021

America is and will always be not about the big cities per se but about the heartland where hard times and sacrifice is often a daily thing. Thankful for the food that is put our plate everyday
Loved the pictures of the steak. Wow. I’m hungry
amfadventures
No doubt…I could use another steak!

Go Omaha – great pictures, never made it to Omaha but looks good. Restaurant appeared real casual but upscale for food and fun. Keep on trucking
We’re on our weekend adventure – heading back to Pittsburgh- kids have field hockey and lacrosse so we’re the cheering and chauffeur squad for the weekend. Drew and Jeannine have show in Rochester MI so we’re switching locations

Omaha is a great midwestern city. I have a sister who lives there. Also, is the home of the college baseball world series. Visited during that tournament and loved the city atmosphere. Yes, you should have stayed another day. They are also very proud of their zoo! Nice singing BTW!
amfadventures
It’s a great place and wish we had more time there! Hope all is well.
