After lots of traveling, we decided it was time to do nothing for a few days!!
Perfect timing, as the weather was sunny and in the low 80’s.
We stayed in Tempe, Arizona. It turned out to be a great location as the hotel was on the edge of the Arizona State University campus…which might just be one of the most beautiful campuses we’ve seen.
Scottsdale
After a few days of doing absolutely nothing, we took a trip to Old Town Scottsdale.
Old Town Scottsdale
Abby & Michael in Old Town.
There are tons of restaurants and shops in Old Town.
And of course, we met a young couple who went to Penn State.
Tempe was one of those places that we didn’t want to leave, but it was time to go to…
New Mexico
Santa Fe has been on Abby’s list of places to see.
So we made the 7.5-hour drive from Tempe in one day!
Santa Fe
“The City Different”, Santa Fe is the capital of New Mexico and the oldest capital city in the United States.
An artist’s paradise, there is no shortage of galleries with 250+ galleries to choose from!
The Santa Fe Plaza is the heart of the city.
While under Spanish rule, Spain required that all colonial towns have a Plaza de Armas in the town center, which interestingly enough was adopted from the Roman Empire.

After a few days in Santa Fe, it’s time to head to our next stop…stay tuned.
